REQUIREMENTS FOR CONFIRMATION
To be confirmed, the minimum age is 14 years .
You must register at the parish office of the Metropolitan Cathedral; hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
The offering for confirmation is $10.00 , which will be paid on the day of registration.
Bring an original and valid baptism certificate (maximum 3 months).
The person must confess in advance .
The confirmed bride's attire must be decent . Ladies are NOT allowed to wear pants; a skirt or dress must be below the knee. There are no specific colors.
People who do not submit complete documentation will not be registered .
REQUIREMENTS FOR GODPARENTS
Godparents, who are a couple, must be married in the Catholic Church and bring proof of their original religious marriage, valid for a maximum of three months.
If the godparent is single, they must be present at the sacrament alone, accompanied by the godchild. They must also be confirmed and bring their original confirmation certificate, valid for a maximum of three months. Godparents who are accompanied or married in a civil ceremony are not permitted.
The confirmation certificate can be requested at the Cathedral offices 8 days after confirmation, with a fee of $5.00 (this is only if you need it, as it is valid for 3 months).
CONFIRMATION SUNDAY
The godparents and the confirmed must arrive at the temple at 7:30 am .
First you must attend the 8:00 am Sunday Mass .
After the 8:00 a.m. Mass, you must go to the crypt (specifically to the "Holy Family" room) to receive the confirmation talk and then the sacrament.
